Audley school was officially opened as a through Primary/Secondary school on the 3rd September 1930. The first head teachers were Mr A Smith in the Senior Department and Miss E Mercer in the Junior Department. In the 1970’s a new high school was built and therefore the existing school became Audley Infant and Audley Junior schools.
The infant school burnt down in an arson attack on Mother’s Day, 14th March 1993. After being rebuilt and totally refurbished, Audley Commnuity Infant School was officially reopened in November 1993.
There are 4 classes in each year group wit no more than 27 children in a class. All 8 Year1 and 2 classrooms have Interactive Whiteboards, an invaluable resource used by teachers to support teaching and learning. There are also 2 mobile ICT suits available for use in the classroom.
